We have ARRIVED in Edinburgh, Scotland

On the way to Falkirk. It is Stirlingshire's largest town, and received its burgh charter in 1600. It sits at an important point on the road from Edinburgh to Stirling and was once the meeting place of various drove roads coming down from the Highlands. Here great herds of cattle were kept before being sold at "trysts" and taken further south to the markets of Northern England. Over 24,000 head of cattle were sold annually at the three trysts held each year.
